Our Favorite Infographics

...A year later and we're still working on catching our breath! We love our clients so much, but, boy, do they keep us busy! Weddings can be so hectic, and there are so many things to keep track of (and so many people to please) that it's no wonder even the coolest cucumber can turn into a "bridezilla" or "groomzilla"! Infographics are such a cute and easy way to remember even the smallest of details. Here are some of our favorites:

Invitation information by ValMarie. Covers who, what, when, and where!
Cake servings by USABride. One of the best ways to end the evening on a sweet note.
Wedding traditions, by HomeAway. Not sure about the bread crumbs,
but we wouldn't say no to a month of Cabernet!
A "How-To" for head tables by SimplyBridal. We're seeing sweetheart tables more and more,
and loving how intimate it is!
Digital etiquette by WeddingPaperDivas. With more and more weddings going "unplugged,"
this infographic has some great advice on little things we might forget in our everyday social-media.
WineFolly's cheatsheet. Or the best way to make sure the food and wine at your wedding, potlucks, and parties
are just as perfectly matched as you and your significant other are!

Summer Isn't Nearly Over!

When did it become September! These summer days don't seem to be cooling down, and neither do these summer weddings! We're busy, busy, busy for the next few months!

It has been an amazing season. We've got lots of pictures to come and some awesome things to show you! But you'll have to be patient until we get a moment to catch our breath...

Phew. Soon...

DARI Night Brings Out the Stars!

Wow! Can you believe it's already the end of February? We're just starting to catch our breath after a crazy 2012 wedding season! And in a few months, the flowers will bloom again, the sun will shine, and then wedding season will start all over again... Hold onto your bouquets and boutonnieres, ladies and gentlemen! We've already got some fantastic couples and celebrations lined up for 2013!

But until then, we wanted to share a memorable end of 2012 with you:

The 2012 DARI Awards & Reception

Held at the Korean Cultural Center of Los Angeles, the DARI awards recognize those who help create cultural bridges between Korea and the United States. Four Seasons was honored to serve up some delicious eats to the celebrated guests (like YG Entertainment) and attendees. Mike even got a picture with Scooter Braun, DARI's "Man of the Year", and Justin Beiber and (now) Psy's manager!

The man of the hour!

Do you think Scooter could get us Psy's autograph if Mike begged a little?

Noodling Around Four Seasons!

Here at Four Seasons Catering, we've got a selection of noodle dishes often added to our couples' customized wedding menus: Japanese udon with hot broth, spaghetti marinara, and Japanese mori soba! Our noodles are served in individual, handheld bowls and are very popular! The hot noodles warm up cold hands for wintery weddings or indoor venues and the chilled noodles are refreshing on hot summer evenings! :)

Hors D'oeuvres of the Hour

Look at all these hors d'oeuvres! Bite-sized delicacies at your fingertips... Passed hors d'oeuvres are a great addition to a reception or can stand alone for a cocktail party. A pre-reception hors d'oeuvres hour will also give the wedding party and families time to take photos and give the guests a chance to nibble on something small during the wait! A cocktail & hors d'oeuvres-only event is also becoming trendy because it allows the guests to mingle, move around, and eat the entire time!

This is a Four Seasons Catering family-favorite! :)

Cakes, Cupcakes, and More! (Updated)

Nowadays, there are many dessert options available for weddings. Cake is still the most traditional and beloved option, but you may want to have more variety available or be allergy-friendly for your guests. Here are many other ideas that might strike your fancy:

Cupcakes
Many bakeries offer delicious and delightful wedding cupcakes that can be impressively displayed on high tiers. With these cupcakes, you have the advantage of having multiple flavors to suit you or your guests’ tastes. You may even save costs on the cake-cutting fee that some caterers impose! (Note: Four Seasons Catering includes complimentary cake-cutting.) Cupcakes tend to be less ornate and require less detailed handiwork than grandiose cakes, which cuts back on labor cost; however, if your cupcakes are still very detailed in design, those costs might end up being the same. Please let us know if you are interested in this option; we would be happy to refer you to one of our trusted bakery vendors!

Dessert/Candy Bar
A dessert/candy bar contains the same advantages as having cupcakes (see above), with the added advantage of having even more selection! Served buffet style, you can lay out an assortment of cookies, tarts, cupcakes, petit fours, candies, brownies, etc. These items can be completely personalized to reflect your personality and your sweet tooths! And with such a large variety, you’re sure to please your guests!

Cake pops
Cake pops are the new trend in the wedding industry! They’re bite-sized cake balls on a stick decorated into adorable shapes and designs (including a “dress and tux”). Cake pops can be made at home and ahead of time, and are individually wrapped and tagged for each of your guests. Has a miniature ball of cake ever looked so adorable and delicious?

Tim and Tricia (TT) provided these red velvet cake pops at their event
and added their own personalized touch to match the theme!
See this blog page for more details.
Whatever your heart desires
You can serve whatever you like! You may want to incorporate your heritage into your dessert (for example, delicious Taiwanese egg tarts are a well-loved treat), or you may want to use a personal favorite (such as a fruit tart). The sky is the limit, and with all of the scrumptious flavors listed above, dessert will never be boring!

Before & During & After

Have you ever walked into a potential venue and think: "How could this possibly look anything like my vision?!" We wanted to show you a before & during & after look at a wedding and how you can turn any venue into the event of your dreams!

Look what a difference lighting and draping makes! They did a fantastic job and it hardly looks like the same church setting! Here are some more photos of how lighting can set the mood for the entire event:

A behind-the-look scenes at what our crew is up to right before the buffet lines start! Look at all that delicious food just waiting to be eaten! We're always impressed when our experienced servers carry those huge trays without dropping anything... and the pressure is on! The fate of hundreds of hungry guests is in their capable hands!

We also make sure to prepare our VIP guests -- i.e., the newlyweds -- their very own plates! The rule is: If you get married that day, you get to skip the buffet line! Our servers bring loaded plates of food right to the newlyweds' table. Things get so hectic; it's important to make sure that the couple of honor is able to eat in the midst of the chaos!
